Outz News Garden is a gardening resource built for one kind of reader: the person standing in their backyard holding a seed packet, wondering where to actually start.
We are not a nursery, a brand, or a storefront. We are a small editorial project with a simple purpose — to take the gardening advice that already exists in university research and turn it into something a first-time gardener can read on a Saturday morning and use that same afternoon.
Why we started this
Most gardening advice online falls into two piles. On one side, university extension services publish genuinely excellent, research-backed guidance — but it reads like a lab report. On the other side, there is a flood of blog content written to fill space, where nobody checked whether the advice was accurate before publishing it.
Beginners get stuck between those two piles. They deserve better than guesswork, and they deserve it in plain English.
That gap is the entire reason this site exists.
How we research and write
Every article on Outz News Garden is written by our editorial team and follows the same process:
- We start with primary sources. Our reference material comes from land-grant university extension programs — the publicly funded agricultural research services that have been studying regional growing conditions for over a century. You will see them cited throughout our articles.
- We verify every external link before publishing. If a source cannot be confirmed as live and accurate, it does not go into the article.
- We write for people who are starting from zero. No assumed knowledge, no unexplained jargon, no “simply amend your soil” without telling you what that means or how to do it.
